Being a former mining village, Skinningrove is a small but tight-knit community nestled on the coast between Loftus and Brotton in East Cleveland.
The village has a very rich history of seafaring and fishing and of course mining, the community having at least 2 pits during the 19th and early 20th Centuries. The village is quite unique in the area as the Methodists are, and have been, the only worshipping community in Skinningrove for over 140 years.
Worship has taken place in our current building since 1873, seeking to serve our God and reach out to the wider community. Though we are a small church community in the village, we do get tremendous support when we have events and fundraisers.
Our Sunday service takes place at 6.00pm every Sunday evening, and visitors can be sure of a very warm welcome.
