Hinton Court differs from the other chapels in the Circuit as it is in fact an MHA (Methodist Homes for the Aged) home, offering sheltered accommodation for the elderly and infirm in the area.
Last year Hinton Court celebrated its 25th Anniversary, which was poignant as 2013 also marked the 70th anniversary of MHA itself. Hinton Court was founded/built in 1988 with significant financial support from the local Hinton family; founder of the Hinton family grocery empire in the 1880s, Mr Amos Hinton was the town’s mayor for many years. Later the family established a centenary fund to benefit older people in Teesside from which Hinton Court was developed.
Hinton Court does provide regular services at 10.30am on the 2nd and 4th Sundays in the month allowing all the residents to join together and worship God, as well as being well supported by other members from the Methodist Church and elsewhere. The worship style is traditional and informal with a warm welcome offered to all who come.
10.30am – Morning worship every 2nd and 4th Sunday.
Tuesdays – Cross-Talk men’s meeting from 7.30pm every fortnight in the lounge
