The Cleveland and Danby Circuit has existed in its current guise since 2005 when the former Danby and Cleveland Circuits merged together.  It now covers a vast area from moor to sea with the two large towns of Guisborough and Redcar.

Our mission: “To serve Christ and make His love known.”

The Circuit is part of the Darlington Methodist District , within the Methodist Church of Great Britain.

We have 16 chapels within the Circuit serving many varied communities from the rural to the urban each with a rich heritage of farming, mining, seafaring or steel working.  Methodism, as with many parts of the North-East, has existed here for over 200 years with John Wesley having visited these parts many times on his preaching journeys in the late 18th century, even leaving his umbrella in Guisborough chapel…..

Though we have a very rich heritage we always find it important to look at the here and now and trust in God for our future seeking His guidance in our work, and trying to get the Gospel of Christ out to those who do not yet know Him in our communities.

A warm welcome is guaranteed from all of our chapels and we look forward to welcoming you to any of the services and events that take place.
